My name is Katy, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. My mission is to partner with you in pursuing mental clarity, emotional stability, and physical relief. When you feel overwhelmed and aren’t sure what to do next, I’m here to help.
I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology- Counseling, Clinical, Research from Liberty University and a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte. I have training and experience in counseling individuals from the ages of 3 through adulthood, but focus on working with clients ages 14 and up. At times I work with a client’s family when it would be beneficial and desired. I specialize in supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, identity concerns, life adjustments or transitions, stress management, emotional distress/dysregulation, spiritual/religious concerns, women’s concerns, and making meaning out of uncertainty.
I enjoy using creative tools in session to assist the client in effectively, and accurately, communicating and demonstrating what they are experiencing.
I work diligently to facilitate a warm, accepting, and safe environment for clients to share their stories and collaborate to identify tangible solutions and next steps.
